Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Craig Haire is an an accomplished physician as well as an avid outdoorsman. He received his Ph.D from the University of Tennessee in 1973, then earned his MD from ETSU’s then-Quillen-Dishner College of Medicine in 1988. Dr. Haire is a member of NOW, a life member of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, and a life member of the Sierra Club. He completed the Appalachian Trail in 1974, completed the Pacific Crest Trail in 2003, and has climbed to the highest point of 48 states. He has maintained a 4-mile section of the Appalachian trail for over 20 years. Dr. Haire’s additional hobbies include photography and sewing.
